FAQ
FAQ-Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I know you are the right person to work with my son, daughter, or family?
The key factor in a successful partnership is feeling comfortable with the person you are talking with and be willing to share confidences with that person in future sessions. That “comfortability” factor, also known as your gut response, should dictate your response after the first session. If you are not comfortable, then you should not schedule a second session with that person.
2. How many sessions will I need?
The $64,000 question. Generally, the maxim is the more specific the problem, the less sessions that are needed. A qualification to the above is that the presenting problem is rarely the “real” problem.
3. Are weekend sessions available?
In my practice, yes.
4. Does it matter which School of Psychology is practiced?
In most cases, no, as the connection between the practitioner and the client is the most important factor.
5. Do you accept my insurance?
Most practitioners realize that most clients cannot pay for the sessions without some form of insurance, so they usually will request the client to pay out-of-pocket and then write them a super bill that they can then submit to their insurance company for reimbursement. Some people who are fortunate enough to make a good living do, however, pay the practitioner “straight up.”
